Bishop Elected to Academy of Distinguished Teachers

     Dr. Robert Bishop, professor of aerospace engineering and engineering mechanics at the University of Texas at Austin, has been selected as a member of The University’s Academy of Distinguished Teachers. The Academy, formed in 1995, “exemplifies the University’s commitment to quality teaching and brings recognition to dedicated classroom teachers.”

     Dr. Bishop specializes in guidance, navigation and control of aerospace vehicles. He has served on the College of Engineering faculty since 1990 and was the recipient of the 1997 Lockheed Martin Tactical Aircraft Systems Excellence in Engineering Teaching Award and the 1997 Begeman Teaching Fellowship.

     Dr. Bishop holds the Myron L. Begeman Fellowship in Engineering.
