Dr. Peppas to receive ASEE Dow Lectureship Award

The American Society of Engineering Education has honored Dr. Nicholas Peppas with the Dow Lectureship Award, acknowledging his educational and research achievements in chemical engineering practice and theory.

Peppas, a professor of chemical and biomedical engineering, will receive the Dow award in June for formulating fundamental theories or principles, influencing chemical engineering education through publications, demonstrating success as a teacher, conducting quality research, and participating in professional and educational societies.

Peppas holds the Fletcher Stuckey Pratt Chair in Engineering and directs the Laboratory of Biomaterials, Drug Delivery, Bionanotechnology and Molecular Recognition. He is a world authority in pharmaceutical sciences and controlled drug delivery and is the inventor of several drug delivery systems and devices described in 30 international patents, some of which are licensed to pharmaceutical and chemical companies. Peppas has authored 30 books or edited volumes and 900 publications.
