Since 1992, the Cockrell School's DTEACh program has helped train educators to teach core content in new, exciting and challenging ways. This summer, the program expanded its reach by hosting its first week-long summer camp, Beyond Blackboards, for students and taught by educators who have been trained by DTEACh.

Using underwater robotics, more than 50 Central Texas students learned about the grand challenges facing engineering in the 21st century. And they had fun, too.

The camp is just one of many focused outreach events, like the Equal Opportunity in Engineering Program's MITE summer camp that took place on campus this summer. View photos of high school juniors and seniors who attended MITE from June 13-17.

The goal of both camps is to give students the opportunity to discover engineering through hands-on projects and interactions with engineering students, faculty, staff and alumni.
