Dr. Burns receives American Concrete Institute award

Dr. Ned H. Burns in late March received the Arthur R. Anderson Award from the American Concrete Institute for his research contributions to the use of prestressed concrete. Burns said the award is valuable because Anderson was the engineer who introduced him to a prestressed concrete career.

Engineers receive $2.3 million to develop better glaucoma test

Biomedical engineers at The University of Texas at Austin have received a five-year, $2.3 million grant to investigate an imaging method for detecting the earliest signs of glaucoma so physicians can reduce how often the disease produces vision loss or blindness.
