Dean Streetman takes Alec to London
As part of the College of Engineering's outreach to alumni, Dean Ben Streetman
and the College's mascot Alec (played by Assistant Dean John Halton) visited
London's Ex-Students Association chapter in June, meeting in the Texas Embassy
Cantina near Trafalgar Square. The event drew about 30 alumni, many of them no
doubt lured by the generosity of an anonymous engineering alumnus who donated
the margaritas to celebrate the dean's arrival. The dean and John Halton visited
Imperial College to discuss student exchange programs, and also updated top
officials in British -headquartered companies on College activities. Thanks to
Friends of Alec, Shahid Ullah B.S.P.E. '82 and Larry Farmer M.S.C.E. '64,
Ph.D.C.E. '65 for hosting the visit.
