News :: PGE Places Second in 2008 Petrobowl

The Seventh Annual Petrobowl was held at the SPE ATCE in Denver Colorado on September 22nd. The Petrobowl is a quiz style competition between collegiate teams of four, pitting one team against another to test their knowledge of petroleum engineering. Among a field of sixteen teams, competing for PGE were Kelli Rankin, Chris Howard, Dan Kennedy and Yuri Kouznetsov. The questions ranged from technical information and petroleum engineering related news stories, to questions on the history of the oil and gas industry. (Here's a sample question from last year's guide: "Plus or minus US $0.10, what was the closing price of a barrel of oil, either West Texas Intermediate or North Sea Brent, this past Friday?") Since each round eliminated a team, we are proud that once again our students made it to the final round, losing to OU in a closely contested effort. Congratulations to all.
