News :: UT PGE Wins 2009 Petrobowl

PGE's team won the eighth Annual Petrobowl at the SPE Annual Technical Conference & Exhibition in New Orleans on October 6th. The Petrobowl is a quiz style competition between sixteen collegiate teams, pitting one team against another to test their knowledge of petroleum engineering. Competing for PGE were Kelli Rankin, Michael Sykes, Nathan Taylor and team captain Sanzhar Zharkeshov. In the final competition with the Missouri University of Science and Technology the University of Texas won handily. The proud team returned to campus with a trophy and a check for $2500 from EnCana. Persistence pays off! Rankin was on last year's team, which placed second in the competition. Congratulations to all!
