Jeff Edgar was recognized during University of Texas Cockrell College of Engineering commencement exercises as an "Outstanding Young Engineer" of 2008. This recognition, given to four graduates annually, is a means of honoring graduates who have made significant contributions to their fields, their university, and their communities. Further these are engineers who have served as role models for current or prospective engineering students.
