The Society of Petroleum Engineers announced that Professor Mukul Sharma has been selected to receive the
Anthony F. Lucas Gold Medal for technical excellence in 2009. This award, recognizing distinguished achievement in improving the technique and practice of finding and producing petroleum
is the Society's major technical award. It will be given on October 5, 2009 during the SPE Annual Banquet in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.
