News :: Gary Pope to be SPE Honorary Member

Professor Gary Pope has been selected as an SPE Honorary Member. This award, given in recognition of distinguished achievement, is the highest honor given by the Society of Petroleum Engineers and is limited to 0.1% of the Society's total membership. The award will be presented at the Society of Petroleum Engineers Annual Banquet and Awards Ceremony in Denver Colorado on September 22nd, 2008.

Dr. Pope, holder of the Texaco Centennial Chair in the Department of Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering, is also the director of the Center for Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering at the University. Congratulations!
