Prospective Freshmen Information Sessions

Prospective freshmen information sessions are typically held on Fridays or Mondays from 2 to 3:30 p.m. The information sessions are led by an Academic Advisor from the Engineering Office of Student Affairs. The session begins with an informational video about the Cockrell School and its history, followed by a presentation about the School by the Advisor.

Students are asked to check in at the Office of Student Affairs (ECJ 2.200) 15 minutes before the meeting is scheduled to begin to get materials and directions to the meeting. Students may call (512) 471-4321 for more information or to make a reservation to attend. The schedule is as follows:

Options for Prospective Students who are not able to attend our weekly Prospective Meetings

  1. Contact Admissions at 512-475-7440 or www.bealonghorn.utexas.edu to arrange a general campus visit.
  2. Campus tours beginning at the Tower are given Monday-Friday at 11:00 and 2:00 and Saturday at 2:00. Times vary during winter, spring and summer vacations - call the Admissions Office for details.
  3. We can mail a packet of information regarding Engineering, including a copy of degree plan(s) students may be interested in. Please call 512-471-4321.
  4. Prospective students may contact the department of interest directly to ask specific questions relating to that major. Aerospace Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil and Architecture Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering
