Current Undergraduate Scholarship Opportunities
Most of the scholarships listed below are supported by corporations who have donated funds to the Cockrell School of Engineering. You can apply for these scholarships online through the Engineering Scholarship Application. The list may also contain additional scholarships from external sources. You can download applications or pick up paper versions in the Engineering Scholarship Program in ECJ 2.106.
To be considered for annual Cockrell School of Engineering and Departmental Scholarships, Continuing Undergraduate Students may complete the online Engineering Scholarship Application due February 1st of each year. If you are an undergraduate who plans to apply to graduate school next year, you can review fellowships on our Current Fellowships page.
Schlumberger Foundation Faculty for the Future
Criteria:
- Must be female
- Must be applying/preparing for a Ph.D. program
- Any Engineering Major
- Must have a proven track record of teaching experience

Merck Engineering & Technology Fellowship Program
Criteria:
- Minimum 3.2 GPA
- Sophomore or Junior in the fall of the 2009-2010 academic year, and completed all freshman or sophomore level courses, respectively
- CHE, or other engineering discipline
- Be able to commit to a summer internship for a minimum of ten weeks at Merck during the summer of 2010
- US citizen or permanent resident

Department of Defense - SMART Program
Criteria:
- Any Engineering major
- Full time student
- U.S. citizen
- Must be eligible to receive and hold a security clearance
- Must be 18 years or older.

Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) Central Texas Chapter's Scholarship Program
Criteria:
- Students pursuing an Engineering degree with an environmental option.

Igor Sikorsky Scholarship Program
Criteria:
- ASE, ME/MSE, ECE, Computer Science
- Freshman or Sophomore
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Underrepresented Minority (African American, Hispanic, Native-American)
- Proof of identity and eligibility for employment in the U.S.
- Must complete a minimum of two 10 week internships with Sikorsky Aircraft if selected for Scholarship

SRC Global Research Collaboration Master's Scholarship Program (MSP)
Criteria:
- Are pursuing or planning to pursue a Master's degree in a discipline relevant to microelectronics
- Woman or under-represented minority (African American, Hispanic, Native American)
- U.S. citizen or have permanent right-to-work status in the U.S.
- Meet admission requirements to graduate school at a GRC-participating university (see www.src.org); applicant should inform GRC immediately upon acceptance to graduate school at one of these universities
- Will be performing research under a GRC-funded research project
- Must be willing to provide a copy of his/her Master's thesis to GRC if thesis program is pursued
Deadline: Must be RECEIVED (rather than postmarked) by February 15, 2010
The Graduate Record Exam (GRE) is required for all eligible candidates for the MSP

The Institute for International Public Policy(IIPP) Fellowship Program
Criteria:
- Full time undergraduate Sophomore
- Minimum 3.2 GPA
- Possess excellent critical analysis and leadership skills
- Have a strong demonstrated interest in international affairs, public policy, and language training
- Are an underrepresented minority(African American, Hispanic, Asian American, American Indian, Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander)
- Plan to seek admission to a two year masters degree program in international affairs.

National Science Foundation Undergraduate Summer Research Opportunities
Eligibility:
- Evidence demonstrating that you are responsible, interested, and willing to learn.
- Future career plans related to the area of research.
- Related course work.
- Work experience, volunteer work, club membership that are relevant.
- Select 2-3 faculty members to write a letter of
recommendation for you, make
sure they know you and have the information about you to write a strong letter in
advance of your deadlines for applying.

Texas Exes Chapter Scholarships
Eligibility:
- See if there is a local chapter in your area, and submit the application to that chapter.
- Texas Exes Chapter Scholarships benefit entering freshmen, transfer students, and/or students continuing their education at UT.
- These students are selected by Texas Exes members who volunteer with their local chartered chapter. The Texas Exes Chapters’ volunteer leaders also work year-round to raise the funding for their awards.
