Program (EOE)
First-year Interest Group (FIG) Scholarships
Students currently participating in a First-year Interest Group (FIG) hosted by the Equal Opportunity in Engineering Program (EOE) are eligible to apply for scholarships to be awarded from the School of Engineering for Spring 2008.
- The Achievers FIG
- Infinite Momentum FIG
- Strength in Numbers FIG
- The Visionaries FIG
Multiple scholarships will be awarded in amounts of $1,500 each. The funds for these scholarships come from gifts to the School from DaimlerChrysler and Lockheed Martin Space Systems, with additional awards from the Equal Opportunity in Engineering Program Endowed Scholarship.
Scholarship Eligibility
- Enrolled as a first-year engineering student
- Current or Fall 2007 participant in an EOE FIG
- Preference for 3.00 GPA, but all applicants will be considered
To apply, students will need to make sure their online Engineering Scholarship Application is complete. Additionally, students should complete the three, short essays for the Equal Opportunity in Engineering Program FIG Scholarship. Be sure to save your second and third essay responses for future reference. You can use them again next year when you apply for additional scholarships. To apply, select the "Apply for Engineering Scholarship" and the "Complete Essays for Scholarships" links on the Engineering Scholarship Application site.
The application and essays must be completed by Sunday, April 6, 2008. The Engineering Scholarship Program will review the applications and announce the selections by April 11, 2008. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Engineering Scholarship Program or the EOE Program.
