leader in large, complex structural investment castings
for aricraft engines and an emerging supplier of

A new school year is upon us, and that means another
year of fun-filled events with your Society of
Manufacturing Engineers. Our first meeting is September
18th, so make sure to mark your calendars. As always,

The SME Houston Professional Chapter
has sponsored a series of free events for SME Students
in Texas. As a part of the free events is an all day
Lean Manufacturing seminar worth over $1500 but free for
SME student members. Also free lunch vouchers for all
student attendees. The registration for the Houstex
Symposium is free and you can witness all the new
manufacturing technologies while networking with

explaining the SCMP program that Hallibuton runs, and
fielded several questions from students at the meeting.

First meeting of the semester is
today! Taren Daigle of Halliburton will be with us today
to give us some insight on what exactly they do there
and how you can start getting involved. Of course we'll
have pizza and drinks for everyone, so stop by and learn
something that will help you once you graduate and grab
some free dinner at the same time. See you there!

that means a new year for UT's Chapter of Society of
Manufacturing Engineers. I'll be working more on the
website this year, and hopefully it'll be more "viewer
