Heath K. Hignight joined the University of Texas at Austin in December 2006 as Associate Director of Corporate Relations. Prior to joining the University, Heath worked for Skillpoint Alliance, an Austin-based 501c3 with the mission of improving workforce systems in Central Texas. During his six years at Skillpoint Alliance, Heath served as Director of the Central Texas Technology & Education Executive Council, Vice President of Youth, College & Career Services, and finally as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Skillpoint Alliance, he served for two years as the Research Programs Coordinator for The Center for Laser and Photonics Research at Oklahoma State University. Heath is a graduate of Leadership Austin (2005-6), and has twice served as an invited review panelist for NSF's Course, Curriculum, and Laboratory Improvement (CCLI) program, in addition to numerous invited speaking and consulting engagements. Outside of his professional activities, Heath volunteers in a variety of community leadership activities, including over four years of mentoring in Austin ISD's Student Mentorship program, and serving on the board of the Austin Museum of Digital Art and steering committees for SEMI, Central Texas Engineers Week, and Capitol BEST Robotics. Heath graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Arts, English, degree in 1995, and Master of Arts, English, in 1998.
