Maranda Larsen joined the Engineering Career Assistance Center (ECAC) staff in July 2004. She currently serves as career counselor, assisting students individually and through workshops with all aspects of the job search. Maranda is the coordinator of the Externship Program, which allows approximately 275 students to experience the "real world" of engineering by visiting 25 company sites around Texas each year. She also maintains contact with graduating students in order to track accommodation statistics and to provide continued career counseling to those still in the job search.
Maranda earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Abilene Christian University in 2001, and her master's degree in education administration from Concordia University in 2006. Prior to coming to The University of Texas, Maranda served as outpatient counselor at the River Oak Center for Children in Sacramento, California. She worked in the McCombs School of Business’ Ford Career Center before joining the Cockrell School of Engineering. Maranda is a member of the Southern Association of Colleges and Employers (SoACE) and the Texas Campus Career Council (TC3).
