Christina Perkins has worked in higher education student services at The University of Texas at Austin for 15 years. She recently returned to the College of Engineering Office of Student Affairs where she began her career in undergraduate student services. In addition to advising students and auditing degrees (to check that students are on-track for graduation), Christina is responsible for hiring, training, supervising and evaluating the other academic advisors. She is also the liaison to the Women in Engineering Program and Equal Opportunity in Engineering Office.
Christina earned her bachelor’s degree in history and ethnic studies and master’s degree in higher education administration, both from the university. She is a member of the Academic Counselor Association at The University of Texas at Austin and the National Academic Advising Association. Christina is also a member of The Hispanic Faculty and Staff Association. In 1998, she received the university’s James W. Vick Award for Excellence in Advising.
