The following reason codes should be used when preparing electronic appointment documents. If you have any questions concerning these codes, please contact the Engineering HR Office.

$ Summer session compensation including salary supplement

A New employee - less than 1 month break in service
B Reappointment with no change in status
C Reappointment with standard salary increase
D Appointment concurrent with initial appointment
E Change appointment - Promotion within department
F Change appointment - Promotion to different department
G Change appointment - Reclassification
H Change appointment - Change of account
J Change appointment - Place on leave of absence
K Change appointment - Return from leave of absence
M Change appointment - Other changes
N Cancel Appt (No Expend)
O Separation - Retirement
P Separation - Dismissal of probationary employee
Q Separation - Death
R Separation - Resignation
S Separation - Dismissal of temporary employee
T Separation - Layoff
U Change appointment - Demotion
V Change appointment - Transfer to/from different department
W Change appointment - Transfer within a department
Z Separation - Dismiss non-probationary class/admin employee
& End of student assignment
1 Salary increase - Merit raise up to 3%
2 Salary increase - Merit increase over 3% thru 5%
3 Salary increase - Merit increase over 5% thru 7%
4 Salary increase - Merit increase over 7%
5 Salary increase - Trainee increase
6 Salary increase - Shift differential
7 Salary increase - Additional duties
8 Salary increase - Increase to offset job offer
9 Salary increase - Internal equity adjustment
0 Reappointment with salary increase - for student appointments
