Cockrell School of Engineering Student Organization Advisors

An advisor is an educator in a “non-traditional classroom.”  The advisor uses personal expertise and perspective to stimulate individual development of members and the  overall development of the organization.  McKaig, R. & Policello, S. The Cockrell School of Engineering believes that faculty and staff advisors to engineering student organizations provide an invaluable and service to the School through their voluntary service to its over 50 student organizations.  By sharing both knowledge about the university and personal experiences, these advisors assist engineering student organizations in the conduct of their activities.  In addition, valuable, mutually rewarding, co-curricular relationships between students and CSE faculty and staff are fostered.
