Student Ambassadors

Founded in 1990, the Cockrell School of Engineering Student Ambassadors are around 20 undergraduate engineering students representing all disciplines in Engineering. Originally called "Student Recruiters," the name was changed in fall 1997 to "Student Ambassadors" to better reflect the functions of the group. The Student Ambassadors are selected through an interview and application process. The purposes of the Ambassadors' program for the College of Engineering are:
- To educate about the various engineering fields.
- To give engineering students an opportunity to develop their interpersonal and public speaking skills.
Activities of the Student Ambassadors are:
- Doing presentations at area elementary, middle and high schools on engineering and UT
- Judging local science fairs
- Doing presentations at Engineering Day at the Mall (EDAM) and "Explore UT".
