Engineering Ambassador Program

Cockrell School of Engineering (CSE) Ambassadors will be trained and given opportunities to serve as esteemed representatives to the Cockrell School while serving as presenters, facilitators, and hosts at a variety of CSE events at UT or in the community.  These students serve as panelist, activity facilitators, event coordinators, guest speakers, small group facilitators, leadership retreat facilitators, tour guides, student liasons, outreach event participants, and other positions for the Cockrell School. Applications open during in Spring.

General Requirements: 
-Attend training at the Student Leader's Conference.
-Complete the child protection trainings and agree to be background checked.
-Volunteer at Gone to Engineering.
-Enroll in the Engineering Ambassador Seminar the Fall semester (new ambassadors only). 

Students who are ambassadors will be able to volunteer and participate in many events throughout the Cockrell School, including the following offices.

  • Recruitment 

    During recruitment ambassadors will communicate and meet with prospective engineering students to discuss their experiences and the resources offered in the Cockrell School. Students will be able to serve as panelist, activity facilitators, event coordinators and/or help with tabling and calling campaigns.

Engineering Student Life & Student Services

  • Prospective Student Sessions and Ramshorn Retreats

    In weekly prospective student sessions, ambassadors discuss the benefits of attending the Cockrell School and their involvement on campus. They also serve as peer facilitators for Engineering Student Life's leadership development retreats and represent the Cockrell School at high profile events, like alumni advisory board engagements and community building events including Gone to Engineering, Explore UT, and Parents Weekend. Students may serve as a guest speaker, small group facilitator, and/or panelist at various events.

  • Outreach And Recruitment

    Ambassadors communicate and meet with prospective engineering students to discuss their experiences and the resources offered in the Cockrell School, and help with WEP events throughout the year.
