Student organizations are an important part of the community at the Cockrell School of Engineering and vital to the overall student experience. Student organizations provide a means outside the classroom for students to make new connections, discover and develop their individual skills and abilities, learn from their peers and interact with alumni and corporate representatives. Through relationships with advisers, student organizations also serve as a medium for student, faculty and staff partnerships.
With more than 70 student organizations, the Cockrell School offers a wide variety of student groups that provide professional development and service opportunities. The majority of these organizations are student chapters of national and international professional engineering organizations.
