Resources for Student Organizations

Off Campus Program

CSE student organizations are allowed to participate in off campus programs with minors provided that another organization, company, or school is hosting the program.

 Procedures and Requirements

1. Student organizations must follow the rules and policies set forth by the hosting organization in these situations.

2. Student organizations should complete the online "post outreach event form" after each event.

Finding Off Campus Opportunities

There are many off campus opportunities for outreach:

  • Check GivePulse for opportunities posted by organizations across the community.
  • Join the CSE Outreach Group on Facebook for announcements about opportunities accross Central Texas.
  • Sign up with Central Texas Discover Engineering to get matched with a classroom interested in having engineers/engineering students visit to present a hands-on activity.
  • Contact Tricia Berry in the WEP Office for additional ideas and connections in the community.

Types of Organizations

Registered

Majority of UT Austin student organizations are registered organizations. For more information about becoming a registered student organization visit the Student Activities Web site.

Sponsored

Sponsored organizations are registered student organizations that have a close relationship with a university department, program or office. Sponsorship requires support, endorsement, supervision and the assumption of responsibility for the actions and activities of the sponsored organization. In order to be sponsored by the university and the Cockrell School, a registered student organization must complete additional steps and receive ESL approval.

For more information check with ESL or visit the Student Activities Web site.
