Susan Higginbotham
Senior Administrative Associate

Susan began her career at The University in 1996 working in the Central Development Office. In 1997 she joined the Cockrell School of Engineering Staff, serving as degree auditor in the Office of Student Affairs where she annually certified more than 600 engineering students for graduation. In 2000, she joined the staff of the Engineering Career Assistance Center as the assistant Recruiting Coordinator. A year later she became the Recruiting Coordinator, where she annually coordinated more than 700 recruiting visits.

Susan joined the ESL staff in July, 2004, and her duties as the Assistant Director include problem solving and resource referrals for engineering student organizations, maintaining the engineering student organizations’ Presidents List and Student Organizations Directory, coordinating and scheduling Dean Keeton banner space, and table and tent check-out. She coordinates the LeaderShape-Texas database and serves as the official photographer for its  sessions. She also coordinates and maintains the ESL Web pages. In addition, Susan is responsible for all engineering student organizations’ accounting, travel, budgets and treasurers’ training, serving as the organizations’ liaison to Cockrell School of Engineering and University accounting offices. Susan also supervises the two ESL student assistants.

Susan is a native Texan, but grew up in Mobile, Alabama. Through her husband’s service in the Air Force, she has lived in Mississippi, Germany, and Arizona before coming back to Texas. She earned a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree in Occupational Education and certification as a public manager from Texas State University. Susan was also a 2013 recipient of the UT President's Outstanding Staff Award.

Dane Stull
Senior, Mechanical Engineering
Student Assistant - Webmaster

Dane grew up in Lubbock, Texas, graduating a year early from Lubbock High School. He is in his fourth year at UT Austin and graduated in 2017. Besides working for ESL and his studies, Dane is deeply involved in his extracurricular activities, being the President of Pi Tau Sigma the Mechanical Engineering Honor Society, as well as a fourth year Member-at-Large of the Student Engineering council and member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Dane has been a member of the Freshman Leadership Organization, Engineers for a Sustainable World, oSTEM, Sigma Alpha Lambda Honor Society, and a resident assistant at San Jacinto Residence Hall. He loves reading, games, technology, and is always looking to make new friends. After graduation, Dane is going to work for National Instruments.

Dain Kasprak
Sophomore, Biomedical Engineering
Student Assistant - Webmaster

Dain was born and raised in Austin, Texas, graduating from Bowie High School in 2016. As a sophomore Biomedical Engineer, he is still exploring his options, unsure of which track to pursue. Dain is a Member-at-Large in the Student Engineering Council, specifically one of the leaders of the Vector Media committee. His involvement within SEC also branches to intramural sports such as soccer, volleyball, and basketball, collaboration with multiple committees, and volunteering at events. As a member of SEC in his first year, Dain worked with many student organizations when coordinating events and starting a media project within Vector. Dain has participated in multiple case/design competitions, allowing him to delve deeper into his major and apply his coursework. Overall, Dain strives to meet new people, discover intriguing opportunities, and become more integrated into student organizations.

Marissa Ronquillo
Senior, Chemical Engineering
Student Assistant - Leadershape Coordinator

Marissa grew up in El Paso, Texas, where she graduated from Americas High School in 2013. She is studying Chemical Engineering at UT Austin. Marissa was the Pi Sigma Pi-Minority Engineering Society, Historian, in her freshman year, and is a member of Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and the Society of Women Engineers. She serves as a WEP PAL mentor and is getting settled into her new role as Student Coordinator for The LeaderShape Institute. She attended the January 2014 session of LeaderShape as a participant and served as an On-Site Coordinator for the May 2014 session.
