Expectations for today’s engineering graduates are higher than ever before as companies and graduate schools seek employees and candidates with strong leadership, communication and team-building skills. Programs that teach these skills benefit students and service industry.

The Cockrell School of Engineering (CSE) provides engineering students at The University of Texas at Austin with a variety of communication, team-building, and leadership development experiences, including almost 60 engineering student organizations. Through participation in CSE programs and student organizations, engineering students gain an understanding that leadership development is a lifelong journey involving vision, relationships, and integrity, ultimately developing outstanding skills that benefit society. Developing leadership, communication and team skills translates into more engineering graduates who are better prepared for the workforce and/or graduate school.
