History
Tau Beta Pi has a rich history of "integrity and excellence in engineering." The Tau Beta Pi Association was founded in 1885 by a professor who wanted to recognize engineers. The Texas Alpha was granted a charter in 1916, and received the Outstanding Chapter Award in '58, '63, and '66. You can learn more about the history of the association here.
