Learn About Our Fraternity
Psi Beta Chapter
The Psi Beta Chapter of Theta Tau, established at the University of Texas at Austin in 1991, is a diverse, energetic group of students, men and women, united by a common bond of engineering. Theta Tau members have a lot of fun while distinguishing themselves as leaders in an engineering environment.
In addition to many social and professional development activities, we participate in campus events such as the annual Rube Goldberg Machine Contest, Alec Contest, Parkfest, and EXPO. Theta Tau is also active in community service activities such as Halloween Canned Food Drive and Habitat for Humanity. Most importantly, the Fraternity promotes lasting friendships
and a lifetime of brotherhood.
Purpose
The Purpose of Theta Tau is to develop and maintain a high standard of professional interest among its members, and to unite them in a strong bond of fraternal fellowship.
Mission
Building on the foundation of the Purpose, our mission statement has five parts:
- To build and maintain a membership that is dedicated to our ideals and committed to our future, and to preserve the undying bonds of brotherhood with our alumni.
- To foster excellence among ourselves as engineers, brothers, and future leaders.
- To serve our profession and our communities: the College of Engineering, the University of Texas, and the City of Austin.
- To establish strong ties with practicing engineers and the industry itself.
- To make our chapter the preeminent engineering organization at the University by building on our unique strengths: diversity, tradition, and brotherhood.
Membership
We welcome male and female students of any engineering major to join the Psi Beta chapter of Theta Tau. For more information on joining Theta Tau, visit our Prospective Members page.
