Our Philosophy
Text Box:
Our student chapter at UT Austin seeks to realize the following goals:
To improve every engineer's interpersonal communication skills within
the College of Engineering at UT-Austin
To promote the FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) Exam and provide
review materials so that all future UT Engineers will seek a PE
(Professional Engineering) License and show a commitment to ethics
       and responsibility in the workplace
To provide for professional development by recruiting speakers and
providing networking opportunities for its members
To give back to the student community by actively volunteering and
providing students with a means to become well-rounded individuals
To have fun!

Our History

Texas Society of Professional Engineers
Founded in 1936, the Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE) has continued to grow to become one of the largest student chapter organizations in the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE).

University of Texas at Austin Student Chapter
TSPE-UT has an average annual membership of 50-100 students represented by all engineering disciplines. Over the past few years, TSPE-UT has gone through restructuring and renovation within the society as well within the College of Engineering. In fact, during the 1998-1999 school year, we were given the "
Most Improved Society" award by the Student Engineering Council. Within the past two years, we have greatly improved the reputation of TSPE as well as increased member involvement by hosting or co-hosting a series of professional seminars and social events with Professional Engineers from the Travis and State chapters.

TSPE-UT has been a registered UT Austin student organization since 1950, and is currently the largest student TSPE chapter in Texas.
