The UAB is collaborating with
BOGO (The
Biomedical Optics Graduate Organization) to pair up undegraduate
students with graduate students to perform research over the summer and
continue in the fall. If anybody is interested in doing research in BME
optics please contact me (juansp88@gmail.com) so we can find a position
for you. This is an incredible opportunity! If you're interested in
research, you should contact me even if you're not in track 1 because
BOGO also has contacts with Track 2 and Track 3 people. So regardless
of your track, we'll try to find a research mentor for you.
Here is a link to the BOGO website so you can get an idea of the
research that is being done and the people you could potentially be
working with.

The BME Undergraduate Advisory Board (UAB) is now accepting
applications for membership during the 2008-2009 school year! UAB
members are responsible for:
(1) Evaluating the departments current approaches to research, external
relations, and undergraduate research with a critical eye
(2) Making thoughtful recommendations for improvement in each of those
areas
(3) Working to bring those suggestions to fruition for the benefit of
the department, faculty, staff and students
The UAB is a tremendous opportunity for networking with
departmental
faculty and staff, and for making a real, positive contribution to UT
BME. Membership is limited to only sixteen undergraduate members and so
the application process is competitive.
