Welcome to the Engineering Scholarship Program! Thanks to generous donations from alumni, corporations, and friends of the Cockrell School, undergraduates received more than $4 million in merit-based awards in 2009, including awards for first-year and current students.

The Cockrell School of Engineering offers a variety of scholarships aimed at recognizing the academic achievement and leadership potential of future students. Students are highly encouraged to apply for university and engineering scholarships by completing the scholarship section of the ApplyTexas application for UT Austin by December 1. As long as you mark Engineering as your first-choice major, you will be considered for engineering scholarships. Also, please consider completing the Engineering Honors Program application to be considered for additional merit scholarships and honors opportunities by December 1.
Currently enrolled engineering students complete the Engineering Scholarship Application by February 1, each year to be considered for scholarship awards and renewals the following year. The Cockrell School also offers scholarships throughout the year from companies, organizations and external groups. The Current Scholarship List changes frequently, so check it often. Most internally awarded corporate scholarships are due each October 1.
The Cockrell School of Engineering does not offer scholarships to incoming transfer students. Transfer students can complete the UT Scholarship Application for Continuing and Transfer Applicants by April 1. Once enrolled in Engineering, complete the Engineering Scholarship Application by February 1.
The Cockrell School does not offer scholarships to incoming international undergraduates. Current international undergraduates can apply for a small number of scholarships available by completing the Engineering Scholarship Application by February 1. To be eligible for an out-of-state tuition waiver, a student must receive an academically competitive scholarship or fellowship of $1,000 or more during an academic year.
