  • The FAFSA priority filing deadline is the date by which financial aid applications must be filed with the United States Department of Education for students to be assured they will receive the most favorable financial aid package, including as much grant and scholarship funding as possible.
  • You will still be able to submit your FAFSA after that date, but some aid may no longer be available.

Notes

The FAFSA is required for students interested in applying for need-based financial aid, including grants, loans and some scholarships. The FAFSA is also required for students to receive Texas Advance Commitment funding.

To ensure the UT Office of Financial Aid receives your FAFSA information, list UT Austin (school code 003658) as the school you want to receive your FAFSA information.
