Did you know that this page was designed by UT students for a class project? You may think that software engineering is something that only older adults may be capable of. Software engineering is a very exciting profession that involves team-work for solving problems. For those wondering why we are saying "software engineering" instead of programming, the reason is this: software engineering is programming, except that it includes organization aspects that help the process go much more smoothly.
To most people, writing ideas out on paper and planning beforehand is not very appealing. Often people want to dive in and just start writing code! After one project most folks realize that they are knee-deep in unorganized program code trying to figure out what is going on!
The Software Engineering class we are currently taking teaches us about the organization that goes on during the entire software development process. The goal of this webpage is to help pre-college students see how our team developed this project using ideas we learned in class.
