Women Engineers: Career Advice and Networking (WECAN)
Women Engineers: Career Advice & Networking (WECAN) provides career advice and guidance to engineering students by connecting them with professionals and peers in their fields. Through WECAN networking events, mentoring opportunities and interactive workshops, students:
- learn about the myriad career paths open to them
- develop job search skills including resume writing and interviewing techniques
- explore opportunities to gain practical experience through internships and co-ops
- Connect with an industry mentor through Open Mentoring™
“Stop Sabotaging Your Career: 8 Proven Strategies to Succeed--in Spite of Yourself” by Dr. Lois P. Frankel provides “eight most effective strategies for overcoming career obstacles and becoming an invaluable member of any work environment.” Through the WECAN workshop series, WEP will facilitate open discussions about the “8 Proven Strategies,” helping participants to “identify their dominant professional behaviors and offers proven strategies to maximize their career potential-- in spite of themselves.”
