YOUatUT is a one day pre-college event for high school students (rising 9th - 12th grade students) interested in exploring the different engineering careers that The University of Texas at Austin has to offer.

The following must be received by October 4th. A complete registration includes:

1. Event Registration by Student

2. Payment of Non-Refundable Registration Fee

3. Completed Consent Forms by Parent/Legal Guardian (sent via DocuSign)

At YOUatUT, participants will explore how engineering benefits society and impacts the world through:

  • Engineering sessions (tours, presentations and activities) led by industry professionals, engineering faculty and/or graduate students
  • Interactive introductions to a variety of engineering areas and exciting career options
  • Creative engineering design and fun hands-on engineering projects

There is a non-refundable registration fee of $250 for each participant interested in attending. Lunch is included as part of the registration fee.

An OPTIONAL Parent/Guardian Information session will be offered from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Cockrell School of Engineering staff will be available to answer questions about admissions, housing, etc. Lunch is not included for parents/families/guests.

Try out this engineering challenge: Can you redesign an alarm clock under extreme conditions?

An engineering professor will share their experiences and answer questions.

Engineering Project: Just for Kicks

Work in a team and use your creativity and imagination to create an automated kicking machine.

Youth Protection Program

The purpose of the Youth Protection Program (YPP) is to protect all minors in their university-sponsored activities and interactions involving members of The University of Texas at Austin community. Read more about the YPP and the restriction of carrying a concealed handgun by any person involved in a University of Texas at Austin camp/program for minors.
