Marrissa Nichole Rylander

Headshot of Dr. Marrissa Nichole RylanderDr. Marissa Nichole Rylander is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. She graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering all from the University of Texas at Austin. Her research focuses on the multi-disciplinary elements of bioheat transfer, nanomedicine, biomedical optics, tissue regeneration, and cancer engineering.

She received the Werner W. Dornberger Centennial Teaching Fellowship at the University of Texas at Austin. Before joining the faculty at the University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Rylander was a faculty member at Virginia Tech for 8 years in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and School of Biomedical Engineering
and Sciences.
