Nearly 400 Texas Engineering students study abroad each year, so fitting it into your scheduled is completely viable. We encourage students who would like to study abroad during their time in the Cockrell School of Engineering to work with their academic advisors to plan ahead — as soon as you start considering studying abroad — so that you can plan the courses to take studying abroad and how to finance your experience.

While study abroad opportunities may seem too costly, the Cockrell School of Engineering, UT Austin and many other organizations offer scholarships for students to expand their horizons through an educational trip to another country. Students already receiving Cockrell School and non-UT Austin scholarships may carry over these funds for their semester abroad. Students already on financial aid may be able to apply for additional loans, if necessary. Students may also apply for additional study abroad scholarships, whether based on merit or need. Learn more about funding your study abroad experience
