The LeaderShape Institute

In partnership with LeaderShape, a leadership develop program for young adults, the Cockrell School of Engineering hosts the LeaderShape Institute, a six-day program of dialogue and self-discovery in a supportive learning community open to all UT Austin students.

One hundred twenty students are selected for the LeaderShape Institute. Since its first institute in 1997, over 1,800 UT Austin students have participated in the interactive week-long program, gaining valuable skills and training in leading with integrity, the mission of LeaderShape.

Eligible students must meet the following requirements:

  • Be an undergraduate, degree-seeking student (open to all majors in any college at UT)
  • Are in good academic standing in their college/school
  • Have completed at least one semester at UT Austin
  • Will have at least one semester remaining at UT Austin after completing the LeaderShape Institute

Thanks to generous corporate contributions, the fee for participants is $100 (which includes lodging, food, transportation, a T-shirt and activities). Scholarships are also available: LeaderShape Scholarship Application
